El Dia de los Muertos

my parents called yesterday to tell me they took Bailey's ashes and spread them in the garden behind the house.

all around the shed (where he loved to chase the bunnies that lived there), down by the lilac bushes and along the tulips, and down around the snap dragons by the foot of the deck.

i wish i could have been there.

on a brighter note, things are getting busy again.

managed to pretty much book up all of this week along with an audition on Friday!
crossing my fingers on that one, it's mad money, bitches!

also, Kelly left NYC for Nashville today.

Happy Belated Halloween Everyone!!!

oh man, yesterday was NUTS!
i had THREE gigs back to back.

first i performed at Last Rites Gallery's First Annual Creep-In, which involved performances from myself, the lovely Victoria Privates, and then sideshow mania of the Disgraceland Family Hooksquad & Freak Show.

THEN i high tailed it to the Double Down Saloon in the LES to gogo dance for their Halloween party, which was a blast!
so many creative costumes...i was impressed!

after that i RAN to Don Hill's to dance on the bar at Rated X: The Panty Party...which was fucking AMAZING.
apparently we had like 800 people show up...seriously, it was like back in the good old days of NYC nightlife.
everyone was dressed to the 9s...everyone was in a good mood, the atmosphere was great...couldn't ask for more.

5am a group of us hit up an afterparty at Beauty Bar...
Kelly and i (dressed as Bettie Page and OWNING it!) snuck out around 5:30 and went to McDonalds...hahaha.
and i've been sleeping ever since!

unfortunately i left my little black crop jacket (from this photo) behind the DJ booth at Don Hill's...i'm stopping by tonite to see if it's there.
i really hope it is!!
that jacket goes with EVERYTHING!!!

i've got the name of the shelter -
Curly Tail Pug Rescue.
they are an amazing group that aids in the surrender, rescue, rehabilitation and adoption of pugs in need in the greater Tri-State area.
please please PLEASE check them out...and if you're in town, come support the show on November 13th!!

tonite Kelly and i are going to see Paranormal Activity.
i have demanded that we see an early show, lest i get the crap scared out of me and am afraid to go home by myself, hahaha.

murh...
been a lil MIA.
just trying to get my stuff in order for this month.

October started off slow job wise, but has completely turned around with Halloween around the corner.
i'm picking and choosing gigs at this point - not that i'm complaining!

this is what happens when you know someone who makes their own absinthe

my friends later found me in the bathroom, all alone, just eating donuts and giggling.

i am performing four times next week:
once for a Halloween number with Stormy Leather, once at a Clue themed burlesque show, once at a Halloween themed burlesque show, and then at a Halloween party at a tattoo shop in Brooklyn!

also, on November 13th i will be performing in a special edition of Bobbie's Bordello Burlesque.
it is a charity show - we're raising money to help a local animal shelter that has run into severe medical bills and is having trouble finding the money to run the organization!
i will post more info on that later.

tonite i am gogo dancing at Don Hill's in Manhattan for the Take Back NY party.

on a non-performance related note...
APW Gallery is doing a Custom Dunny show and i am totally stoked about it.
waiting for my money to transfer from Paypal into my account so i can sign up for this...
am thinking about doing one Dunny totally on the grim and one ridiculously blinged out burlesque style...

did some art modeling for an SVA student today.

have another shoot with a photographer tomorrow.

otherwise I'm holding up.
my mom called today - everyone has been really nice regarding Bailey's passing, so that's a relief.
our kitty Chloe is having a bit of a hard time...I guess she's come over and sniffed the area they were nursing him on (he was at home the last two days, pretty much comatose, on IVs and wee-wee pad) a couple of times, has dragged all of her toys out around the house during the day, and has been walking from room to room meowing in each one.

my computer is broken...AGAIN.
a breaker switch in our apartment flipped off and when things powered back up the computer was saying it couldn't boot Windows because a system file was corrupt or damaged.
a friend lent me the Windows XP installation CD so we'll see if that works...
really really crossing my fingers on this one.
kind of tired of having things die on me!!

some unfortunate news:
my parents called this morning to tell me our 14 year old dog had gone into seizures early this morning.
they rushed him to the emergency vet, who attempted to sedate him with valium.
apparently that didn't work, so they were told to take him immediately to our regular animal hospital.
he went into another seizure and was given phenobarbitol...last I heard they were waiting to hear from the vet's office.

honestly I can't imagine its good...it sounded like the seizures themselves were lengthy and the fact that he went into more than one...
I'm really worried that even if he doesn't die right away there will be brain damage and he'll have to be put down.
honestly I was hoping he would hang on to at least Christmas...

and so you aren't left completely depressed -
I went to Disko Nouveaux with some friends last nite.
the party is run by the same people who bring us Dances of Vice, so you KNOW everyone there was FIERCE as FUQ!

well, Mommy Dearest departs tomorrow.
today we went on a horseback ride through Prospect Park -
which was fun until a car blasting reggaeton sped by, spooked the horses, and i nearly ate pavement.
thank god for the 5 years of riding experience or i would be all Christopher Reeves right about now!!

oh yea, i have a piece in this art show right now:

opening reception was Saturday.

Mama Liquorice is in town.
spent the day walking around Manhattan - went to the top of the Empire State Building, ate Earl Grey icecream from an organic gourmet vending truck - Van Leeuwen Ice Cream, wolfed down deliciousness at Butter Lane Cupcakes, then had dinner at a fancy-dancy Japanese restaurant in the LES.

tomorrow we're going to the Statue of Liberty and then Tuesday we're horseback riding through Prospect Park!!

Friday night i premiered a new burlesque number at TRASH!
i didn't have time to do everything i wanted to the costume, so i'm going to go back and add excessive amounts of SHIT to it later on...

Saturday nite i both performed with Stormy Leather in Melody Sweets' AMAZING number at the New York Burlesque Fest and then immediately high-tailed it to Don Hill's to gogo dance at Glamdammit's 5th Anniversary party, where (as usual) i harassed the crap out of Richie (he loves it).

cold season has officially hit.
my roommate is sick, i'm sick, several of my friends are sick...
i ended up sleeping 15 hours today though i do feel slightly better now.

had two gigs back to back yesterday and unfortunately because of time restraints, had to leave without performing at one.

tomorrow i'm rehearsing with Melody Sweets and Stormy Leather for a number we've done...
Tuesday i'm modeling for SVA - FINALLY!
it's been FOREVER!

my mom comes into town on Saturday (eek!) and is staying until next Friday so somewhere in this week i've gotta get around to cleaning and organizing.
she wants to do a bunch of really touristy stuff so i hope the weather's at least somewhat decent.
no more of this cold rainy crap.
blah.

also somewhere in there i've gotta go to the clinic and see if they can reprint one of my prescriptions - it apparently went missing in between the appointment and coming home...
not to mention finish that costume for this coming weekend!!!
